How does the Supplement Facts Generator work?
Type up to eight ingredients, each with an amount, a unit, and an optional daily value. A row with no name is left off the panel.
When you give a daily value, the panel shows the percent of it that one serving provides. When you leave it blank, the panel shows a dagger (†), meaning FDA has not established a Daily Value for that ingredient.
This tool puts your ingredients into the FDA layout. It does not check your amounts, and it does not make your label legal on its own.
What does a worked example look like?
500 mg of Vitamin C with a 90 mg Daily Value shows 556% DV. 250 mg of turmeric extract, with no Daily Value entered, shows a dagger (†) instead of a percent.
Frequently asked questions
What does the dagger (†) mean?
It means FDA has not established a Daily Value for that ingredient, so no percent is shown next to it.
What if I leave the daily value blank?
The ingredient row shows the dagger symbol instead of a percent, the same as FDA rules require for ingredients without a Daily Value.
Does this tool make my supplement label compliant?
No. This tool puts the ingredients you enter into the FDA Supplement Facts layout. It does not check your amounts. Have a qualified reviewer check the label before you sell the product.
Can I list more than eight ingredients?
No, this panel supports up to eight rows. Leave the name of any unused row blank and it is left off the panel.
